There is a feast of live entertainment coming up at the Dock Road venue this weekend.
Singer/ songwriter Róisín O will release her new single ‘Better This Way’ this weekend. The video for the new song was filmed in Iceland, directed by John Broe to a backdrop of awe-inspiring, harsh Icelandic landscapes, mirroring the tone of the song.
Speaking about the track Róisín O explains, “‘Better This Way’ is a bit of a departure for me, it’s a step away from the pop vibes of my last single ‘Give It Up’. In a way it’s a throwback to my folk roots but with a lot more darkness and grit than anything I’ve released before.”
Róisín O will play an intimate acoustic gig in Dolan’s this Saturday October 22. The gig will be recorded as part of her ‘Studio Sessions Tour’. Special guest on the night is Limerick’s Emma Langford.
Dundalk folk/ punk troubadour Jinx Lennon will drop two albums this week. ‘PAST PUPIL STAY SANE’ and
‘MAGIC BULLETS OF MADNESS TO UPLIFT GRIEF MAGNETS’ are collections of Lennon’s razor sharp and cutting observations of everyday life. ‘Sultans of Sickness’ and ‘10 O’Clock T Break Bolix’ are just two examples where Jinx hits the bullseye.
Jinx Lennon is special guest to Windings this Saturday October 22. If you haven’t seen this one-of-a-kind artist in action then get in early to see this show, everyone else will already be there.
Waterford singer-songwriter Marc O’Reilly drops his new album ‘Morality Mortality’ on October 28 on Virgin Records / Salt and Shake Records. Following the release of his critically acclaimed albums ‘My Friend Marx’ and ‘Human Herdings’ O’Reilly has established himself as one of the most exciting artists gaining comparisons with artists John Martyn and Bon Iver.
Marc is a tremendous live performer and is in the middle of a European Tour. He has appeared at festivals like Glastonbury, Electric Picnic and Boardmasters and squeezed in a trip to the US to appear at the Live in the Vineyard Festival in Napa, California.
Don’t Miss Marc O’Reilly at Dolan’s on Friday October 21.
