A father of three from Newcastle West has been named Unislim Man of the Year after shedding 8 stone 8lbs in a year and a half.
Martin Loftus (46), a former shift worker, tipped the scales at 21st 10lbs when he attended a Unislim class for the first time and used to eat a full Irish breakfast every morning.
Now working as a full-time Care Assistant he described his win as “mind-blowing” saying, “I battled for years with my weight, and saw it as a mountain I’d never climb.
“There’s more and more guys coming to the classes, and it’s great to have a friendly, non-judgemental space to be yourself and transform your life by shifting the pounds and taking on a healthy new lease on life.”
