BUALADH Bos Children’s Festival is now one of Limerick’s City of Culture 2014 most successful legacy projects.
From Gill Fenton, marketing manager of BB’s shared venues: “We open with the world premiere of ‘BLOWN AWAY’ by Metta Theatre Company on Monday October 11. From then it’s a roller coaster ride of theatre, music, workshops and screenings for two weeks.
“In addition we have a jam packed family weekend in the middle, it will be buzzing with activity in both venues, Belltable and Lime Tree Theatre. Mark the dates for this family weekend in the diary, Saturday 15 and Sunday 16.
“Thanks to the work of children’s author Sarah Webb we also have a fantastic book programme planned this year. Authors like Derek Landy, Shane Hegarty, Dave Rudden, Patricia Forde, Judi Curtin, Roisin Meaney and many more will entertain all young book worms with various events.”
The Book Doctors with Children’s Books Ireland is part of the Family Weekend in the Lime Tree Theatre, MIC on Sunday 16 between 12pm – 4pm. If you have any bookworms interested in chatting about books, this is the event for them and all ages are encouraged. They will each get a prescription with suggested book titles depending on their interests.
“The Bualadh Bos Children’s Festival programme has something for every child” is the promise.
