THE LINEUP for the Limerick County Senior Hurling final will be known this weekend as the second semi final takes place between Adare and Ballybrown.
The men from the west village have arrived in the County semi final off the back of an unbeaten season. Securing five Group wins from five means that Adare will take to the Gaelic Grounds on Sunday afternoon at 3.45pm having not pucked a ball since September 11.
Ballybrown will look to end that unbeaten run by Adare, following their 1-20 to 2-13 replay win over Ahane last weekend. The green and whites are unbeaten themselves this year, as they managed to qualify second from the group stages with four wins and a draw.
The semi final is sure to attract a large attendance to the Ennis Road venue as both sides look to reach a county final against Patrickswell on the weekend of October 23. Adare are looking to reach their first showpiece since 2013, when they lost out to Na Piarsaigh, while Ballybrown are looking to reach their first county final since 1995.
In football news, Monaleen and Dromcollogher/ Broadford will once again meet in the Limerick Senior Football championship final, following last weekend’s semi final clashes.
The repeat of the 2013 final will take place on Saturday October 15 with a 7.30pm throw in.
Dromcollogher/ Broadford, with a 1-09 to 0-9 win over Na Piarsaigh, will be looking for their eight county title, their first since the aforementioned 2013 while Monaleen, 2-13 to 1-10 winners over St Patrick’s, will be looking to secure their sixth county championship win, their first since 2011.
