A SHANNON Town landmark, the Shannon Knights bar and nightclub, has gone into receivership. A prominent part of the local social scene since opening in 1972, the premises underwent a major facelift in 2010. The company employs 75 people, 72 of those working in the hospitality area and they have not been affected by the move as of yet . According to the latest accounts, the company has loans totalling €3.37 million. The outgoing owner, Aiden Quish, is well liked and respected in the town. Local Sinn Féin county councillor, Mike McKee said that Mr Quish was very good to the people of Shannon. “When there was a funeral, he would always help out and was very generous to local clubs”, he said.
