LABOUR councillor Frankie Daly is of the view that “sometimes it’s the little things that matter”.

“But little things can cost a lot,” says Cllr Daly.

“Getting around by ‘Shanks Mare’ should be as hassle free as possible. And so it is good news for the residents of Richmond Park and College Park, Corbally to hear that €20,000 in funding has just been secured for footpath restoration and repair in the area,” he adds.

Cllr Daly told the Limerick Post this week that he “has been trying to break through the red tape that has held up such projects for years”.

“I’m glad to have been able to help make this important piece of local infrastructure see the light of day. We build massive motorways for cars and trucks and we can forget about the safety and comfort of pedestrians dropping down to the local shop for bread and milk. My task as a local representative is to get these smaller projects through. The cumulative effect of all this is to make our localities better more enjoyable areas to live and work in.”
