THERE are two free masterclasses taking place as part of this weekend’s Limerick Jazz Festival.
Ed Hansom of the LJ committee and Limerick Jazz Improvisation workshops and Little Big Band asks, “If you have been wondering whether learning to play jazz is for you, they represent a great opportunity to understand what is involved”.
This Thursday September 22, Latin jazz group Atchere will be at the Shannon Rowing Club from 7.30pm. On Saturday 24, festival guest artist, guitarist David O’Rourke will be in the Captain’s Room at Hunt Museum.
“Our regular classes are starting on October 4. For more information go www.limerickjazz.com/workshops”, or talk to Ed on 086-6025 661.
See this Thursday’s Limerick Post for Eric Fitzgerald’s profile of David O’Rourke and his Sunday 25 gig in Dolan’s Warehouse with Hugh Buckley, Tommy Halferty and Joe O’Callaghan.
Arts page then takes a look at the four days embracing workshops, a music trail through city venues and gigs in Belltable as well as Dolan’s Upstairs and Warehouse.
