A PUBLIC meeting was held in Ahane GAA clubhouse this week to raise concerns over a proposed 30-acre solar farm development at Ballyvarra, Lisnagry, adjacent to the Annacotty Business Park.
Organised by local residents, a number of concerns were raised ranging from infrastructure and health complications to environmental concerns.
Local Fianna Fáil councillor Joe Pond, who attended the meeting along with Deputy Willie O’Dea and other public representatives, said that local residents had raised a number of concerns over the proposed development at the old Ferenka factory site.
“Rangen Power is the company behind the development and when I contacted them, they said that they would attempt to work with the residents regarding their concerns. Over the coming days I will be raising the residents concerns with both the company and Limerick City and County Council,” said Cllr Pond.
