ALL clubs in the top flight played two games each in the past week. It is now Pike who notched up two top class victories that lead the league as firstly, they put five by Geraldines: Colin Daly (2), John Connery, Kevin Barry and Cian Collins all netting; and they saw off Regional on a three nil scoreline with Colin Daly (2) again and Steve McGann.
It was a mixed bag for Carew Park as they lost out in a seven goal thriller to Kilmallock with the county sides goal-getters being Killian Hayes, Jack Barry, Tommy Heffernan along with Barry Sheedy as the Carew Park goals came through Keegan Park (2) along with Gary Griffin. Last year’s holders got back to winning ways with a brilliant two nil win over Janesboro as it was Ritchie Mullins and Jonathan Grant that bagged the vital goals.
Earlier in the week Janesboro had a 4-1 away victory over Moyross with Aaron Nunan (2), Shane Clarke and John Tierney on the mark for Shane Hanlon’s side while Stephen Hannon netting the Moyross goal.
Aisling also have notched up two victories, beating Nenagh two nil through Brian O’Donovan and Keith Mawdsley on the scoresheet. It was also a 2-1 win over Moyross with ace goal-getter Keith Mawdsley notching a brace as Adrian Power replied.
In the basement battle Kilmallock notched up their second victory in a couple of days with a big 5-1 win over Geraldines Barry Sheedy (2), Killian Hayes (2) and Jason Heffernan on the mark as Karl Turner struck for Geraldines.
Ballynanty also had two from two seeing off Nenagh 3-2 and Summerville 3-1 as Derek Daly scored against Nenagh with Jamie Daly (2) and Dave Ryan on the goals’ front against Summerville.
Fairview also had mixed fortunes, losing to Regional 4-2 as the victor’s goals came through Ollie O’Driscoll, Brian O’Callaghan, Mike Guerin and Evan Patterson, as Cian O’Donoghue along with Christy Doyle netted for Paul O’Donnell’s outfit.
Fairview then put seven by Summerville George Daffy (3), Darragh Rainsford (2), Eddie Byrnes and Cian O’Donoghue.
Irish Junior International manager Gerry Davies announced his squad for the upcoming regions’ cup which will take place in Italy.
Three Limerick players made the squad, they being Stephen Bradley, Danny O’Neill and Pat Mullins.
