KATIE OโKelly is an actress, a playwright and maker of theatre.
In Limerick we have seen her work at Theatre at The Savoy with โCounter Cultureโ; in Belltable with Palestinian activist and performance poet Rafeef Ziadah; in Kilmallock with โPortrait of an Artist as a Young Manโ with the New Theatre Company.
We caught a glimpse of her own play โThe Olive Treeโ in May with Ziadah and now she returns with it to Friarsโ Gate as writer and performer this Saturday September 3 at 8pm.
โThe Olive Treeโย is โtold using comedy and imagination throughout to frame the heavy reality of life in occupied Palestine in an entertaining way, with frequent moments of humour, making it suitable for audiences aged 12+.โ
Bear in mind that Katie OโKelly, actor Donal OโKellyโs daughter, was Stage UK magazineโs nominee for Best Solo Performer in Edinburgh Fringe 2012.
