THE LIMERICK Charity Cup, the annual preseason competition for Limerick senior clubs, will kick off this Thursday night, as holders Young Munster take on UL Bohemians. In what is seen as the tie of the round, Gearoid Prendergast, now Young Munster’s head coach, will take on his old side UL Bohemians, who this season are coached by Christy Neilan, George Murray, and Keith Matthews.
With the All Ireland league set to start on September 17, all sides will be looking to get some game time under their belts, with a long month off for the teams who do not progress to the second round, which is done for decision on September 3.
