Fine Gael Seanad Spokesperson on Education & Skills and Senator for Limerick City Maria Byrne, has wished Limerick’s Leaving Cert Students the best of luck in advance of receiving their results on Wednesday morning.

The Senator stated: “Finally the long wait is over for Limerick’s Leaving Cert students and their families. It is always a time of great anticipation for students and their families. However, I am sure that the wait will be worth it in the end and that the work put in by students over the last two years pays off. I do hope that every student gets the results that they want.”

The Senator continued: “Unfortunately, not everyone gets the result which they wanted. What I would say to those that are disappointed with their results or who do not get what they anticipate is ensure that you view your exam scripts and if necessary get your examination papers rechecked. Even if you do not get the points for the course you wish to study it is not the end of the world. There are always ways and means of getting to where you want to be in the future.”

The Senator concluded by saying: “Every student should be proud of the work they have put in and the results that they receive. To those students who choose to go onto third level and study at L.I.T., Mary Immaculate College or U.L. here in Limerick I wish you the very best of luck and want to assure you that I will continue to raise issues at both a local and national level that affect these third level institutions and the students that attend them.”
