A FATHER and young child have been killed in a fatal road traffic collision involving a car and truck on the N24 between Pallasgreen to Oola Road in Limerick this morning.
It is understood that he crash occurred at an area known as Brooks Bridge where the pair were killed instantly as a result of a head on collision.
Details of the crash are still emerging, but it is understood that the accident occurred earlier this morning.
The road has been closed.
Gardai and emergency service are at the scene and the area is being technically examined.
The remains of the father and child, who have not yet been identified, will be removed to University Hospital Limerick for a post mortem examination.
