THE former owner of a county Limerick bridal store that was at the centre of a major controversy last year has been sent forward for trial on charges of theft.

Shirley Flanagan, (35) sat in the public gallery of Limerick District Court this Wednesday as Judge Marian O’Leary directed her case to next sittings of Limerick Circuit Court on the instructions of the DPP after she pleaded not guilty to a number of offences.

Ms Flanagan of Rathurd, Donoughmore, faces four separate charges under the provisions of the Theft and Fraud Offences Act, relating to offences which are alleged to have happened at Robelle Bridal between January 4, 2015 and May 7, 2015.

She is accused of stealing property worth a total of €3,650.

Robelle Bridal has now ceased operations and Judge O’Leary was told that Ms Flanagan is unemployed.
