walk 1Siúl go dtí Seasca Ceathar, the annual fundraising walk for Bóthar finished in glorious sunshine on the ‘Living Bridge’ in U.L. last week.

Each year Bóthar founder, Peter Ireton, organises a sponsored walk with participants walking a killometer for each year in Peter’s life.

This year Peter is sixty four and the organization he helped establish celebrates its 25th anniversary by sending a flight full of life-saving gifts to Rwanda.

“We’ve christened the plane “The Flying Ark” and on it will be cows and pigs and goats and chicks and AI straws. The special cargo on this flight will be helping hundreds of families in Rwanda – it will change their lives,” Peter explained.

“Bóthar is counting on the public to get involved and sponsor an animal, or part of an animal or flock of chickens.

“Please send whatever you can afford. Every single donation will help us get this flight to where it is needed most”, he added..

Bóthar works in 25 countries across Africa, Asia, Eastern Europe and South America and is committed to using the most appropriate agricultural development project for the people and the climate of the region in which it is working.
