Hunt Museum home to ‘A Terrible Beauty: Centennial Reflection by Robert Ballagh’

A Robert BallaghOPENING (officially) at The Hunt Museum this Friday 27, 6pm, ‘A Terrible Beauty: Centennial Reflection by Robert Ballagh’. The 1916 rebellion and its leaders have been a recurring subject in Ballagh’s work over decades. A reflective talk by the artist on Saturday 28 at 1pm will look at its resonance expressed through his art.

The show is open daily already, and will stay in place until August at Rutland Street.

Robert Ballagh was born in Dublin in 1943, and has achieved national and international success including representing Ireland at the Paris Biennale in 1969.  He has long been inspired as an artist by 1916 and this public selection of works “has personal resonance as he reflects on the challenges and legacy of the rebellion”.
