GARDAI are investigating a number of attacks and robberies in Limerick last week, including an aggravated burglary at the home of an 82-year-old pensioner.
The aggravated burglary happened at Janemount Park in Corbally between 8.45pm and 9.05pm last Monday.
The victim of the attack was an elderly pensioner aged 82 and was injured when she encountered a burglar in her home.
Sgt Justin McCarthy of the Crime Prevention office said that “the victim was pushed about by the culprit who despite being disturbed, proceeded to steal several items from his victim.
“He had broken into the house by throwing a brick through a back window.
“This was a cowardly crime and extremely frightening for the victim” he added.

Another attack, this time on a 28-year-old woman is also under investigation when she was robbed while sitting in her car at Bishop Street on Monday.
The door was suddenly opened and a lone male tried to steal her purse which was on her lap.
He succeeded and punched his victim twice in the face before escaping.
Gardai described the culprit as being 5’8 or 5’11, ginger hair, thin build, clean shaven wearing a light blue hoodie and navy tracksuit pants.
Again Mayorstone Gardai are appealing for witnesses.
