ADARE’S Restaurant 1826, under the expert eyes of husband and wife team Elaine Hourigan and Wade Murphy, has been crowned the best restaurant in Munster for the third year running.

Setting the pace and trend from their picturesque Adare setting, Wade Murphy has been creating dishes and treats with the very best of locally sourced produce and the Restaurant Association of Ireland have again recognised his talents and dedication to the industry.

Speaking after the RAI All-Ireland Ireland Restaurant Awards, Wade said that “to do this three years running is unbelievable considering we are only opened for three years. “It is a true testament to the entire team’s hard work and dedication.

Wade went on to say that “we are again humbled, honoured and proud to get the award, because as always it is a team effort and together we have been recognised amongst one of the best for our work.”

Monday night’s awards ceremony held in Dublin saw over 900 restaurateurs and staff attended the sold out, black tie event which celebrated the hard work and achievements within the industry over the last 12 months.

RAI Chief Executive Adrian Cummins commented on the awards now in its eight year. “From over 70,000 online nominations cast earlier this year to 2,500 guests attending our regional events, it is clear that the stature, calibre and reputation of the awards is expanding at a considerable rate and it is all in aid of recognising the talent within our sector. All winners and finalists here tonight are very deserving of their awards.”
