A FIRE overnight has caused extensive damage to a car and truck dealership in county Limerick.
Fire investigators and a garda forensic team are to carry out a full investigation with a view to ascertaining the cause of the blaze which is understood to have caused extensive damage to a number of vehicles at the dealership.
The fire occurred at Truckcar Sales Ltd at Fanningstown on the outskirts of Croom.
The blaze took hold at 9pm on Monday night resulting in six units of the County Limerick Fire and Rescue from Newcastle West, Rathkeale and Kilmallock.
Crews from the forestations were sent to the scene and fought the blaze for a number of hours and remained on scene to dampen down the area.
It is understood that there were no reported injuries but substantial damages has been caused to both the Trucker Sales premises and the Mercedes Benz vehicle stock.
