#Limerick for Engineering showcase is on this Tuesday at the South Court Hotel

OPPORTUNITIES for engineering positions will be on offer at Limerick for Engineering – an industry led initiative in the South Court Hotel on Tuesday night, April 19 between 7pm-9pm.

The primary goal of the initiative is to promote the huge diversity of engineering careers and the various paths to getting your career started whether it be as an apprentice, technician or engineer.

All of these opportunities are available locally in the Mid-West and students choosing engineering as a career have excellent job prospects both locally and nationally.

Employers, education and training providers will be at the showcase event to talk to students, parents and teachers about these opportunities and there will be lots of practical demonstrations, organisers say.

1,200 people turned up for the showcase event last year and it is expected that the attendance numbers for this year’s free event will further grow.

Partners to the event include, Analog Devices, AMCS, Cook Medical, Croom Precision Medical, Design Pro, University of Limerick, GE Capital, IDA, Intel, Kostal, Limerick Clare Enterprise Training Board, Limerick Institute of Technology, Luftansa, Stryker, Modular Automation, Molex and Regeneron, to name but a few.

Secondary students can see the range of career options and engineering courses available in UL and LIT, while also gain answers to lots of questions about engineering and jobs in engineering at www.steps.ie

Budding engineers can also explore your future in Science, Technology and Engineering at smartfutures.ie

More details of the event can be found on www.limerickforengineering.ie
