'I cannot thank you enough' - woman to #Limerick firefighters after house blaze

PRAISE for a rapid response and thanks for containing a house fire, has been heaped on the firefighters of #Limerick City Fire and Rescue who dealt with a fire at the home of a Limerick family last weekend.

Shortly before 10pm last Saturday night, a blaze took hold of Sandra Flemming’s home in Raheen.

Three units from Limerick Fire City and County and Rescue Service attended the scene and two firefighters equipped with breathing apparatus kits entered the two-story house to carry out searches and attend to any injured persons. Suspicious circumstances as to the cause of the blaze have been ruled out by gardai and there were no reported injuries from the incident.

Emergency personnel remained at the scene for some time after the fire was contained and eventually extinguished. A post to the Limerick City Fire and Rescue facebook page captured the dramatic scene with the message: “Our crews dealt with a Domestic Fire in Raheen tonight. 2 BA crews committed”.

Sandra Fleming responded to the post commenting: “To all the Limerick fire crew, I cannot thank you enough for all you did for me and me family tonight, devastated cannot describe how we are feeling right now, but thanks to your rapid response the damage has been contained to half only of the house, thanks again to you all”.

The facebook posting has attracted praise along with hundreds of facebook likes and shares.

Darragh Hogan wrote “Ye do amazing work Limerick fire and rescue service and stay safe for the last few hours of your shift, while Mark Ó Cadhla added; “Well done to Limerick fire and rescue.”
