EUROMILLIONS winner, Dolores McNamara is in a bidding war to purchase one of Limerick’s biggest and top performing retail park, Childer’s Road Retail Park.
With an overall floor area of 257,000sq ft, the retail park has caught the eye of the Limerick multi-millionaire who scooped €115m in Europe’s biggest ever jackpot win.
One of Ireland’s richest people, Ms McNamara has now qualified for the second round of bidding along with Irish Life and Savills Investment Managers to bid in excess of the €44m guide price to acquire the retail park.
UK home, garden and leisure retail chain The Range which is to go into competition with Woodies, have recently acquired space at the park where Dunnes, Boots; Arcadia’s Burton, Wallis, Evans and Dorothy Perkins; Next, Lifestyle, Argos, Heatons, Harry Corry, Smyths Toys and smaller units for Costa Coffee, KFC and Pizza Hut.
Mrs McNamara, through her company Blue Haven, is understood to be receiving advice from Eddie Hobbs.
HWBC and DTZ Sherry FitzGerald are jointly handling the sale of the park which was developed more than 10 years ago by Alan and Brian McCormack of Alanis Capital with funding from Anglo Irish Bank.
The park produces a rental income in the region of €3.22 million.
The sale of the park is under a joint marketing campaign to also find a buyer for the Ennis Road Retail which holds at €15m price tag and a rental income close to €1.5m
