Hunt Museum hosts symposium, ‘Limerick and the 1916 Rising’

With speakers Helen Litton, Dr Jeff Leddin, Dr Angus Mitchell, Tom Toomey and Dr Ruan O’Donnell, the event accompanies the eponymous exhibition at the Custom House.

This show focuses on the Daly Family collection held at Glucksman library, University of Limerick. The Daly collection is comprised mostly of letters that give insight into direct personal involvement with 1916 through the activities of a Limerick family. These include letters of sympathy following the executions in 1916. There portraits of the Daly sisters and a poem referencing the execution of Roger Casement.

‘Limerick and the 1916 Rising’ symposium will set this show in the frame of  the wider history of 1916 while highlighting local connections. Book in advance through the Hunt Museum, opting for lunch if you wish.
