Ambulance and car collide outside Adare Co Limerick

A NUMBER of people have been hospitalised followingย a road traffic collision on the main Limerick to Tralee road at Adare this Monday evening involving a car and an ambulance.

Shortly after 4:15pm this Monday, the car and the ambulance collided.

Gardai and emergencyย services attended the scene and the road was reduced to a single lane of traffic.

As a result, a number of people were injured and having been initially treated at the scene, they were later taken to University Hospital Limerick

The accident occurred ย just outside the village of Adare at theย Lantern Lodge.

A garda investigation is underway and the extent ofย the injuries suffered are not known.

The road has since reopened to traffic in both directions.
