Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Limerick has announced details of the many free events for Limerick Business Week which runs until March 14 next.

LEO Limerick is one of 31 Local Enterprise Offices (LEOs) across Ireland that will host initiatives aimed at stimulating business activity locally. All will run hundreds of events during the week, with the ultimate aim being to create jobs among small businesses and also to encourage those with a business idea to pursue their dream.

The week long event comprises of a series of clinics, workshops and seminars to meet the growing needs of the business sector in Limerick, particularly offering support and services to help start, grow and develop micro and small businesses.

This Tuesday, the Limerick Enterprise Awards will be held at the Dunraven in Adare County Limerick from 12.30.

Some of the free events on offer across Limerick city and county include: ‘How to make a wage for yourself from your business’ on Thursday, 10th March, a Corporate Wellness workshop on Thursday, 10th March, a Social Media one-to-one clinic on Friday, 11th March and Getting the best from your Marketing on Thursday, 10th March.

There are also information sessions on Re-imaging and Rejuvenating Limerick city centre and a Back to Work Enterprise Allowance information session on Wednesday, 10th March with a Women in Business networking event. A HR and Employment seminar on Friday 11th March will also deliver expert information to employers.

Head of Enterprise, Eamon Ryan, Limerick City and County Council, said Limerick Business Week is hugely important as over 90% of all businesses in Limerick are micro-enterprises.

“The Limerick Enterprise Office plays a crucial role in supporting these entrepreneurs through the initial difficult years of business and information provided at the Limerick Business Week events can be a key support,” he said.

“Throughout next week, start-ups, SMEs and larger companies can share and learn from each over and members of Limerick’s business community are encouraged to speak openly about their experiences, to boost potential entrepreneurs and investment in the community.”

He added: “There’s a huge variety of events on offer culminating in our annual Student Limerick Enterprise Awards and I’m encouraging those involved in our small indigenous businesses in the region to participate in Limerick Business Week as we strive to strengthen the enterprise sector in Limerick.”
