LF|83 is music producer Kevin Walsh from Limerick. He will launch his debut album ‘Folk Science’ this weekend.
Following up on some very promising EPs, Kevin Walsh set about recording a full album in November 2013. It has been a couple of years in the making and the care time taken shines out in the quality of the music. The instrumental album mixes electronic beats and sounds with melodic acoustic instrumentation becoming more atmospheric towards the end.
Walsh brought a diverse collective of Limerick musicians to contribute to ‘Folk Science’ from jazz to rock/metal. Robbie Costelloe, a long-time collaborator with Leading Armies, Peter Mullins of Secret Police and My Empire, Richie McCormack of ZhOra and Moley O’Suilleabhain all played on the album.
The album took 18 months to record and mix and was mastered in Fluid Mastering Studios in Shepherd’s Bush by Tim Debney (The Libertines, Thom Yorke, Lilly Allen)
For the launch at The Stormy Teacup LF|83 has made a video for each of the eight songs on the album which will be screened on the night.
LF|83 will launch debut album ‘Folk Science’ this Saturday March 5 at The Stormy Teacup, Foxes Bow. The album will be available on Bandcamp from March 11.
