AN INQUEST into the death of Limerick mother who was nearing the end of her second pregnancy heard that she died from natural causes after undergoing a hospital check-up the day before.

Caroline Kavanagh was discharged from a Limerick hospital on February 10, 2015. However, on the following day, she was found dead by her partner at home and her inquest in Limerick this Monday heard that she died from natural causes.

Unborn baby Thomas James Lee also died as a result of his mother’s death.

Coroner Dr Tony Casey returned a verdict of “death in pregnancy of natural causes”.

Ms Kavanagh of Glenbrohane, Garryspillane, Kilmallock  is survived by her partner James Lee and daughter Megan and her brother, sister, other relatives and friends.

Caroline and baby TJ were laid to rest at Auraclaw Cemetery.

A second inquest heard that a Cork man died as a result of a road traffic crash on the Limerick to Cork Road on July 23, 2014.

However the inquest was adjourned to next June after Dr Tony Casey was told that a criminal prosecution was still pending against the driver of the second car involved in the crash.
