SIXTY seven Limerick children have had their wishes come true with the help of charity organisation Make-A-Wish Ireland.

Since its establishment in 1992, Make-A-Wish has brought some happiness to the lives of children who are battling life-threatening medical conditions such as cancer, brain tumours, cystic fibrosis, heart disease, muscular dystrophy and cerebral palsy.

The organisation is now calling on Limerick people to volunteer for its Wish Day fundraiser on April 8 next to support their ongoing work with children locally. Fifty volunteers are being sought throughout Limerick on the day to give just a few hours of their time to support Make-A-Wish.

“Volunteers in Limerick will be raising awareness for the work of Make-A-Wish while also helping to raise funds through the sale of beautifully designed badges,” explained Make-A-Wish’s head of fundraising, Irene Timmins.

“A successful Wish Day will enable us to grant more wishes to children living with life-threatening medical conditions. We have brave children on our waiting list from Limerick and with the support of people from throughout the community, Make-A-Wish can grant the wishes to these deserving children,” she said.
