Galway burlesque cabaret The Dirty Circus returns to Limerick City for more saucy shenanigans this weekend. Dolan’s will be the host a night of all things burlesque and cabaret, with Valentine’s tricks to excite.
The Dirty Circus started in Galway four years ago and has grown every year. Each show produced is unique and playing to regular sold out shows in The Róisín Dubh in Galway as well as festival appearances at Electric Picnic, Knockanstockan, and Body & Soul.
Producer Tommy Walsh told Limerick Post Newspaper that burlesque is thriving in Ireland.
“The scene has seen a huge revival in the last few years as people search for an alternative type of night out and The Dirty Circus provides that in spades! The general cabaret feel is extra special with people making efforts to dress up and enjoy their night out in style. The audience, I would say, is mostly made up of ladies and couples.”
Those who attended The Dirty Circus on its last visit to Limerick will be reacquainted with some welcome sights and sounds and introduced to even more, including Ms Foxy P Cox, Black-tie Magician, Ms Tantalizing Temptress, Ms Raven, Ms Julianne Hennelly and a very naughty Clown Noir.
With special MC for the night, the incorrigible Mr Phil T Gorgeous taking you by the sweaty hand and leading you through their cosy world of naughtiness, decadence and glamour.
The Dirty Circus will keep the lights low but spirits high as the cream of the burlesque world is presented for your delectation.
Producer Tommy adds, “There will be most certainly audience participation as whoos and screams are encouraged and pretty much anything else that could happen. This is our second time in Limerick. The first night was one of the best audiences we got and we just had to come back and hope to continue to do so.”
When the stage goes dark the beat goes on. Cantina Bop will keep the mood going with an eclectic mix of sexy and underground swing tunes, guaranteed to “get you where you’re going.”
The Dirty Circus Burlesque and Cabaret plays at Dolan’s Warehouse this Friday February 12.
