THE Ennis Book Club Festival will celebrate 10 years of loving books from March 4 to 6 with “literary, musical and poetic treats, all preceded by a special programme for young readers. 2016 will be a year for the curious, designed to give audiences plenty of food for thought as the Festival reflects on the significance of the centenary year with a captivating mix of writers”.
Glór (www.glor.ie) is the site of interest; there is a Singing Café promised and the annual Sunday Symposium. Invited speakers include Dr Anne Byrne, NUIG; Penguin debut writers Vanessa Ronan and Kit de Waal, historians/ writers Diarmuid Ferriter and Catriona Crowe, playwright Fiona Looney and novelist/ columnist Marian Keyes. The first Léamh Festival will have elements to please from young babes right up to Transition Year students and older.
