Limerick City and County Council in consultation with Transportation Infrastructure Ireland, formerly the National Roads Authority, are working to progress the Foynes to Limerick Road Improvement Scheme.

Limerick Fianna Fail TD, Niall Collins, pointed out this week that people are anxiously awaiting the publication of the preferred route corridor.

“Hopefully the Council and the NRA have fully taken on board the views and concerns of people. Time will tell,” he said.

“Adare is one of the biggest traffic bottleneck areas in the country, with record delays being experienced at peak times. The travelling public and local west Limerick commuters will be very angry if the preferred route selected does not include an Adare bypass,” he warned.
