A 39-year-old woman has pleaded guilty to the theft of almost €14,000 from a project for young people in Southill over a two year period.
Martina Keane of Glendale Lawn, Old Singland Road, Limerick was charged with 54 counts of theft from the Southill Outreach Youth Project in Galvone between 2010 and 2012.
At Limerick District Court on Tuesday, she pleaded guilty to ten sample charges.
The court heard that the ten charges involved Martina Keane moving various amounts from €300 to €800 by electronic funds transfer to an AIB bank account over the two year period.
The money totalling €13,877.60 was withdrawn on an account linked to the youth project.
Ms Keane also pleaded guilty to the theft of office supplies worth €95.95 belonging to the youth group.
Prosecution counsel John O’Sullivan said that the court was to note that it was an early plea from the defendant who was due to stand trial for the thefts.
The case was adjourned until February 10 for sentencing.
