MUNSTER RUGBY are set to announce two new signings this week as head coach Anthony Foley looks to strengthen his squad ahead of a busy period. The signing of Argentinian full back/winger Lucas Gonzalez Amorosino, 29, is expected to be announced tomorrow morning, with reports coming out of Argentina stating that the current World Cup squad member will join the province on a short term, 4 month deal.
Amorosino is expected to return to Argentina to play with the new expansion team “Los Jaguares” in the new look Super Rugby tournament next season. Amorosinohas previously played for Cardiff Blues, Oyonnax, Montpelier and Leicester. He is also a former member of the Argentinian sevens team.
Earlier this week, Anthony Foley confirmed that Munster have signed a backrow player also. Although Foley would not be drawn on the identity of the player, the new signing, who will be cover for Peter O’Mahoney and Tommy O’Donnell is rumored to be currently at the World Cup also. With social media, being what is it, fans of Munster are hoping for a Michael Hooper shaped present under the Christmas this year. . .
