THE third International Film Festival here in Limerick under the mantle of Richard Harris’ colourful, high achieving legacy had its packed launch at No. 1 Pery Square. See richardharrisfestival.com for details on the ambitious programme of screenings, a suite Ireland movie premiers, talks by their producers and directors, workshops, a portrait competition dedicated to Harris, literary trail and more.
The two Limerick City of Culture bursary winning film shorts, ‘Lost & Found’, and ‘The Clockmaker’s Dream’ will screen – first outing to cast and crew but it’s an open ticket.
International class stars such as Jared Harris of Lincoln, Poltergeist and The Man from UNCLE and Sean Cronin of Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation are supporting the many events plus the gala screening of ‘A Man Called Horse’ / reception night on Friday ย 23. This will take place at No. 69 O’Connell Street and later, at George Boutique Hotel for a ticket-only, red carpet number.
Reflecting the snowballing interest in this four day event, Thursday October 22 to Sunday 25, Dublin was platform for a parallel launch of this unfunded festival for film makers, stars and movie buffs.
