THE GAELIC Grounds on the Ennis Road will host a hurling double header this Sunday afternoon. Adare and Ahane meet in the replay of the Q3 sponsored County Senior Hurling Championship quarter final which is followed by the meeting of Na Piarsaigh and champions Kilmallock in the first of the semi finals.
Ahane and Adare drew 0-17 apiece last weekend in Kilmallock, with the side being level on nine different occasions throughout with John Meskell and Willie Griffin being the stars of the show from placed balls. Patrickswell await the winners on the second semi final which now has a date of October 4 at the Gaelic Grounds.
The winners of the last five county championships, Kilmallock (3) and Na Piarsaigh (2), meet in the first semi final of the year at 3.45pm on Sunday, in what is a repeat of last season’s final which Kilmallock won.
