If so, you might be interested in a County Limerick film festival that’s aiming to engaging the community in reflection of how life and faith are intertwined in the community.
The Parish Pastoral Council of Askeaton and Ballysteen will host consecutive movie nights at the Askeaton Community Hall over four Wednesdays starting on September 30.
A spokesperson for the group, Mossy Hynan, said that “Films by nature can be informative, uplifting and reflective and this a way to pose those questions over a cup of tea afterwards. They have the potential to enrich our understanding of life and of our faith.
“With this in mind, the parish group have chosen to show four classic and contemporary films with various life themes running through the performances.
‘The Way’, ‘The Mission’, ‘Amazing Grace’ and ‘Philomena’ have been selected for the programme with each event compromising of the film viewing followed by some time to chat about its impact.
“It’s about being informal and relaxed while enjoying it over a cuppa”.
Admission to the Wednesday night events is free and proceedings get under way each night at 7.45pm.
