LIMERICK are the All Ireland under 21 hurling champions for 2015. John Kiely’s men defeated Wexford 0-26 to 1-07 in Thurles tonight in front of 18,500 fans.
In what was a one sided affair from start to finish, Limerick produced some fine scores to lead 0-11 to 0-4 at half time. The second 30 was no different, athough a 51st minute goal for Wexford from Conor McDonald, did look like a comeback was on. Limerick showed character, which this team has in abundance, to kick on a finish the game with seven more points to secure the Cross of Cashel trophy for the fifth time, the county’s first since 2002. Barry Nash, wearing the number 15 jersey, was Man of the match in what is a brilliant finish to what had been a frustrating season for Limerick hurling.
