LIMERICK group The Flag Listeners play the Kasbah Social Club, Dolan’s on Friday September 4. The Flag Listeners are Eamonn Hehir, former frontman with well-known Limerick band, Toucandance on vocals and guitar, John Steele on electric guitar and former Toucandance members, Sean Fox on bass and Tony Brennan on drums. The hard working band have been working on a new set of songs in the past year or more and if all reports are to be believed, there is lots to look forward to at this show.
Eamonn’s recent solo album,’The Flag Listeners’ was described by Hot Press as “…a heady mix of guitar pop, dreamy soundscapes and poetic lyrics”. The band has been working on and recording an album of new material over the summer in AP Studios, Dublin, and are planning to release new material Easter 2016.
Guitarist with the band John Steele commented week, “We haven’t played live in a few months as we’ve been busy recording. We’ve got some cracking new material and it’s free admission so t’would be great to see some friendly faces there.”
The Kasbah Social Club set will consist of a mix of songs from Eamonn’s solo albums, new songs written for the upcoming album, and some revamped Toucandance tunes. Admission is free. This Friday September 4 to hear The Flag Listeners play the Kasbah Social Club, Dolan’s.
