UP to 200 repossession cases are due to be heard by the county registrar in Limerick this Friday.
Many of the case will involve solicitors seeking orders allowing financial institutions take possession of homes after borrowers fell into mortgage arrears. A number of home owners are expected to represent themselves while other cases will not be contested.
County registrar Pat Wallace is scheduled to hear the cases from 10am and a number of protestors have said they will object to the applications.
There has been a 10 per cent increase in enforcement of security on residential mortgages during the first quarter of 2015.
Financial institutions represented at this Friday’s sitting include Bank of Ireland, Permanent TSB, EBS Building Society, Stepstone Mortgages, Ulster Bank, Start Mortgages, KBC, AIB, Pepper Finance, Springboard Mortgages and Haven Mortgages.
