TO Lime Tree Theatre for Thursday August 27 when Bottom Dog Theatre Company stages its wonderful drama, ‘Language Unbecoming a Lady’. Written and performed by Myles Breen and directed with sensitivity by Liam O’Brien, this is the story of a lonely, mature homosexual man and his closet self, Diana. She’s a silkily wrapped goddess of the hunt for love, wrapped in boa and heady perfume.

Tickets are €50 for an evening embracing a wine reception on site hosted by Dr Mike Finneran before the show – two shows, in fact. Over to Breen: “‘Language Unbecoming a Lady’ tells the story of Robert and his alter ego, The Divine Diana.

“But afterwards in Dolan’s Warehouse the audience will be present at the premiere – and only performance – of ‘The Divine Diana Show’. You will never get to see this collection of divas on stage together again.”

This eventful night of identities drawn over the years and expressed in loving articulation has come about because Bottom Dog is invited to Origins 1st Irish Theatre Festival in Manhattan. In September the company will stage the US premier of this production that has toured Ireland to respect and warm houses over 20 plus performances.
