LIMERICK Institute of Technology made its highest ever number of first round CAO offers this year, with demand and points up on a number of courses.
Of the Institute’s 69 programmes, CAO points increased in 27 courses; points decreased on 26 courses and remained the same on 12 courses.
In what is perhaps a reflection of Ireland’s improving economic environment, LIT saw a returning demand for courses in the built environment and construction this year as the construction industry begins to pick up.
The college also has four new courses on offer; Medical Technology in Limerick, Games Art and Design in the LIT Clonmel campus, and Information Technology and Environmental Management in Agriculture in the Thurles campus.
A spokesperson for LIT has advised students that there are still opportunities available at LIT for those who have not yet made up their mind or are looking for other options.
He said: “LIT has places on offer on 18 Level 6 Higher Certificate programmes by direct entry. Full details are available on the LIT website www.lit.ie/Direct.
“Places are available in Engineering, Information Technology, Science, Environment, Tourism, Business, Interior Design, Sustainable Building, property and Social and Community Studies.”
All LIT two-year Level 6 Higher Certificates graduates can progress onto degree programmes.
