MUSIC, free and sweet, is ours to listen to in the gentle haven of St Mary’s Cathedral next Wednesday August 5 and again on Wednesday August 19 at 1.15pm. Resident organ player and director of music Peter Barley will play compositions by Buxtehude, Hassler, Tunder, Weir and Mathias on Wednesday 5.
A programme of Poulenc, Planel and Elliot informs the lunchtime hour on August 19 with The Sundance Trio playing to the audience. The Sundance Trio is comprised of oboe, bassoon and piano.
There is never an entrance free but there is a retiring collection for the music itinerary at the Cathedral throughout the year, so much of which is open to the community for a song.
