LIGHT Moves issued an open call for film submissions to the second Light Moves Festival to run November Thursday 19 – Sunday 22. The festival focuses specifically on screendance/dance film, operating out of various sites, principally Dance Limerick on John’s Square and with screenings and workshops at No. 69 O’Connell Street and UL campus.
This four day series of events “is a response to the vibrant and expanding field of screendance in Ireland and joins a range of similar initiatives internationally in providing a platform for new works and a forum for development and enquiry in this exciting area”.
Light Moves brings together national and international directors, performers, choreographers, composers, writers and cinematographers through a series of workshops and presentations. Supported by Limerick Council, it’s curated and directed by Mary Wycherley, now appointed Limerick Dance Artist in residence, and Jurgen Simpson.
