PEOPLE are being urged to wear red as a show of solidarity at a public meeting about the proposed gasification plant at the former Gortadroma landfill this Thursday, July 16.
The US leaseholders, Cadence EnviroPower (CEP), will meet with the residents of Ballyhahill, Gortadroma and surrounding areas at Shanagolden Parish Hall at 6.30pm.
Last month Askeaton-based councillor Kevin Sheahan claimed that the level of objections to the gasification plant was the highest he had experienced in his 30 years as a public representative.
“There is an anxious public out there and people have real concerns,” he said.
