PRE-SEASON sessions might only be a week old, or have not even started yet, but Limerick clubs now know their first competitive fixture of the season is set. The draw for the Limerick Charity Cup took place last weekend, with some mouth watering ties on offer. The first round, to take place in the last week of August, sees Nenagh Ormond entertain Young Munster, while UL Bohemains host Bruff. The bottom half of the draw sees old rivals Shannon and Old Crescent facing off at Coonagh, while Garryowen will face Thomond in Dooradoyle.
With five Divisions of rugby to look forward to this season in the All Ireland league, as well as the re-introduction of play offs in all 5 leagues, a good start to the season will be just what all the local teams will be looking for.
