TO gather ideas and momentum fuelling our European Capital of Culture 2020 bid, highlights over the next weeks include Kitchen Table Conversations.

These are informal talks open to everyone and are due to take place in Askeaton (11am, July 7), Rathkeale Arts Centre (8pm, July 7), Adare Library (11am, July 14), Millstream Common Room, University of Limerick (3pm, July 14), Our Lady of Lourdes Community Cafe, Limerick (11am, July 15) and Glór Theatre and Arts Centre, Ennis (2.30pm, July 15).

According to Limerick Arts Officer Sheila Deegan, these Kitchen Table events are “informal, free and hopefully taking place at a table near you! At each KTC, we’ll provide discussion prompts that can help get the conversation going, as well as feedback sheets to record your ideas.

“We know everyone’s busy so we’ve tried to make participating as fun and painless as possible. We’re even working on a kit you can download so you can host a Conversation at a date and time that suits”.

Other scheduled events include the St Mary’s Community Festival and Regatta on Sunday July 12from 1 to 6pm. The festival takes place in one of Limerick’s oldest parishes and brings together people of all ages for a great day’s entertainment.
