Limerick is one of Ireland’s most beauty-obsessed cities with a real penchant for manicures, pedicures and teeth whitening. Statistics from online shopping website Living Social indicate that people in Limerick are snapping up more beauty deals than elsewhere. They have no whims parting with their cash to indulge in new hairdos, bikini waxes or all over tans. The research analysed data across six locations, cross-referencing customer postcodes with volume of sales for beauty treatments. Findings show that 30 per cent of all deals purchased in Limerick in 2014 were for beauty or cosmetic-based procedures, whilst the national average sits at just 25 per cent. Limerick ranked second after Cork where 31 per cent of deals were for beauty treatment.
