HEAD to City Library at The Granary next Friday June 26 for the last free lunchtime concert with the RTE Contempo Quartet. Supported by the Arts Council, Contemporary Music Centre and RTE lyric FM, the monthly series is based on the theme of Father and Son. It features music by Haydn as well as living composers – who have been invited/ in attendance for these lunch chords.
The guest artist on June 26 is William Dowdall on flute for Mozart’s Flute quartet; the Irish composer is Donnacha Dennehy whose ‘Push-Pulling’ is on the programme. As usual, Haydn opens the hour at 1pm and this month his ‘Quinten/ Fifths’ quartet is chosen.
