Vice Captains Prize – In the best golfing weather of the 2015 season, Vice-Captain Arthur Ryan hosted his “major” competition last weekend. With the course in tremendous condition, the scoring matched the quality of the course and weather conditions. 1st prize was won by Alan Quinlan with a great score of 64 nett. 2nd prize was won by Graham Calvert with a score of 68 nett, with Pat Ryan coming 3rd with 70 nett. The best gross score prize was won by Arthur Pierse with a gross score of 74. The Category 1 prize for handicaps 14 and under went to Daniel O’Donnell with 72 nett, and the Category 2 prize for handicaps 15 and above went to Tom Barrett with 74 nett. The visitor’s prize was won by Michael Madden from Portumna GC with 70 nett and the junior’s prize was won by Daniel English with 42 pts. The Ladies prize was won by Catherine English. Thanks to Arthur Ryan for a great array of trophies and prizes for the winners, and thanks to Mike Heffernan and his green-keeping staff for presenting the course in tremendous condition. Singles and Fourball Matchplay, A reminder to all members that the first round Singles Matchplay fixtures must be completed by June 11th, with the first round of the Fourball Matchplay due for completion by the end of June. Rumble for Crumlin: Our annual Rumble for Crumlin is running for the month of June. This is for a fantastic cause and we would encourage all members to play in this event sometime over the month. It will be played off the White Tees and it will be teams of 3. Open Singles : Ballykisteen GC welcomes all those interested in playing in the Monday and Wednesday Open Singles competitions. With the weather improving, and the course in great condition, it provides a great opportunity to test your game.
