NATlONAL Bike Week will take place from June 13 to 21. The week-long event is aimed at encouraging more people to cycle every day and to demonstrate just how easy it is to switch to using the bike. The number of people cycling every day in Ireland has more than doubled in the last ten years. The last Census recorded a ten per cent increase in the number of commuters cycling each morning. Men account for more than two thirds of those cycling to work. Some 29,075 of the 39,803 cycling to work are men according to Census 2011. For more details see Bikeweek.ie.
